General Information

Admission to First Year Engineering : 2019-20

Availability of Seats

  • AIT offers 300 seats for Engineering Course commencing in July 2019 (120 seats in Computer Engineering, 60 seats each in Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering,). Only wards of serving/retired Army personnel are eligible to apply for admission to AIT. Children from other categories, that is those who are not wards of Army personnel, can be considered for admission only after considering wards of Army personnel. Usually more than 3000 applications are received every year from Army wards.

     

Eligibility Criteria

  • Children of serving/retired Army personnel are eligible. The parent should have completed minimum 10 years of service in the Army. Detailed eligibility criteria will be published in the Prospectus.

  • Age -The candidate must fulfill the age criteria requirements as per JEE Main 2019.

  • Educational Qualification- Class XII or equivalent (appeared or passed) with compulsory subjects as Physics and Mathematics alongwith one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational Subject. Candidates should obtain at least 50% in the above combination of subjects.

  • Should appear for either 1st or 2nd JEE (Main) 2019 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) else both. In case of candidates who attempt both the JEE (Main), the best of the two scores will be considered by NTA for preparation of final merit list and All India Rank. (In AIT, last year's last admitted student’s All India Ranking was 1,11,326).

  • Must be an Indian citizen, or a PIO who has obtained/obtains Indian citizenship before admission.

Entrance Examination

  • AIT admission is based on the All India Ranking obtained in the Joint Entrance Exam. All applicants are therefore required to appear in JEE Main 2019, 1st / 2nd JEE (Main) 2019 or both and also apply to AIT for Admission. Failing to fill up any one of the forms will lead to rejection of admission to AIT.

  • Dates for online submission of JEE (Main) 2019 application on website are as follows :-

    (i)   First Attempt : JEE (Main) (Jan 2019)                 -        01 Sep 2018 to 30 Sep 2018

    (ii)  Second Attempt : JEE (Main) (Apr 2019)        -        08 Feb 2019 to 07 Mar  2019

     AIT does not deal with distribution of JEE Main forms and answer to queries, regarding Joint Entrance Examination.

  • Dates of Entrance Exams

    First Attempt : JEE (Main) (Jan 2019)      -        Between 06 Jan 2019 to 20 Jan 2019

    Second Attempt : JEE (Main) (Apr 2019)   - Between 06 Apr 2019 to 20 Apr 2019    

AIT Application Form

  • The applicants should fill AIT online application on website www.aitpune.com wef 15 Mar 2019 after receipt of JEE (Main) Roll Number of Second Attempt of JEE (Exam seat Number).

  • Details of First Attempt (Roll Number, Mark in JEE (Main) All India Rank obtained etc) are to be filled by the candidate itself in AIT Admission form.

  • Cost of AIT Application Form

  •  Cost of Online application is Rs 550/-, inclusive of processing charges.

    Last date for submission of completed Application Form without late fee is 25 Apr 2019 and with late fee of Rs 500/-  is 5 May 2019.

    Admission schedule and Joining Instructions will be hosted on the AIT website www.aitpune.com in the month of Jun 2019.

Entrance Examination

First Year Admission for the Session 2019-20

  • Candidate seeking admission to AIT is required to take JEE Main 2019 (Joint Entrance Examination – 2019) conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).

  • Application Form and JEE Main 2019 Information Bulletin are made available on the website jeemain.nic.in

  • Candidates should refer to JEE Main 2019 Information Bulletin for syllabus of the examination, last date of receipt of application form by JEE Main 2019 and any other related information.

  • Filling up of both JEE Main 2019 Form and AIT Application Form is mandatory. Candidates failing to fill any one of these forms in time will be ineligible for admission to AIT.

  • Candidates who are eligible for admission to AIT can fill AIT online application in the month of March/April after receipt of JEE Roll Number (Exam seat number) from CBSE.

  • Candidates must state JEE Main Roll Number at appropriate place in the AIT Application Form. Absence of this important input may result in rejection of the AIT Application Form.

  • Admission to AIT is on the basis of All India Rank obtained in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main - 2019. Weightage for gallantry award if applicable will be given as specified in the AIT prospectus which can be downloaded from AIT website

Migration to Second Year

  • Rule: Migration allowed from one university to another University upto third year within Maharashtra state only.

  • For migration to AIT, the candidate must be a ward of serviceman or ex-serviceman from army only and must fulfill basic eligibility criteria spelt out in the college website.

  • Candidate desirous to migrate must have completed first /second year engineering from any engineering college within Maharashtra State only.

  • He should have cleared all the subjects and no ATKT/Backlog is allowed for migration.

  • Eligible candidates should apply on plain paper along with mark sheets (Xerox) of pervious year (FE / SE as applicable) (both semesters).

  • Based on the vacancies existing in branches, the applicant will get admission as per the Merit list based on the candidates qualifying exam.

  • Vacancies will be filled up strictly on merit of the result of the pervious year.

  • The decision of AIT management will be final.
