The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a professional association with its corporate office in New York City and its operations center in Piscataway, New Jersey. It was formed in 1963 from the amalgamation of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Institute of Radio Engineers. Today it is the world's largest association of technical professionals with more than 400,000 members in chapters around the world. Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines.

Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), an association dedicated to advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity, is the world’s largest professional technical society. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through IEEE's highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. In 21st century various IEEE student branches were formed in esteemed engineering colleges of India, one of which is the IEEE AIT student branch. It came into existence on 16th July, 2015 .This year it is led by Prof. Sunil Ramdaspant Dhore, Head Computer Dept. who was the branch Mentor and Prof. Sangeeta Jhadav, Information Technology Dept. as the branch counselor.
